About the Role:
As a Body Design Engineer at DFSK, you will be at the forefront of designing, validating, and optimizing vehicle body structures. Your key responsibility will be ensuring that welded joints meet structural, safety, and quality requirements, while supporting seamless integration into high-volume automotive production. You will also be responsible for working closely with other teams to ensure that body parts are manufactured with precision and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, validate, and optimize body structures.
- Ensure welded joints meet the necessary structural integrity, safety standards, and production requirements.
- Work on designing fixtures and equipment to support the body assembly process.
- Perform quality checks on fixtures, ensuring they align accurately for welding processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to body part accuracy and fixture alignment.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, DFSK is looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in body design or welding process engineering within the automotive industry.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of RSW (Resistive Spot Welding) and GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) processes.
- Fixture Calibration Expertise: Skilled in measuring and calibrating welding fixtures and checking their accuracy and alignment.
- Problem Solving: Proven experience in solving issues related to body part accuracy and fixture alignment during the body assembly process.
- CAD Tools: Proficiency in CAD tools like CATIA and AutoCAD.
